Lightning Rookies Fall To The Panther Rookies 4-1

By Ken Peacock

The Lightning’s prospect ended their tournament with a fizzle. They leave Coral Gables, FL playing 3 games and losing 3 games. Jonathan Hazen opened up the scoring for the Panthers with a power play goal getting by Pat Nagle. This game was penalty filled with Ashton, Conacher, and Wright getting their share of time in the box. Panthers add another in first and chase Nagel from the net to be replaced by Jaroslav Janus with 8 minutes and some change in the second period. Panthers once again go on the power play and D’man Adam Comrie make it 3-0 Panthers with 2 minutes left in the second. The Lightning finally get on the board with a Tyler Johnson wrist shot to make it 3-1. The Panthers get credit for their fourth goal of the day as the Panther’s Birkholz is grabbed from behind while moving in and attempting a shot on an open net. With the game in its final seconds the Panthers Selleck and Lightning prospect Mark Barberio decide to release some stress with a closing fight by the benches. Final Score Panther 4 and Lightning 1.

Now it’s back to regular camp for some of the prospects, while others are sure to be cut and released back to juniors.

I'm not the average hockey nut. It took a bit to grow, but when it did it was like a drug flowing in my veins. I am a season ticket holder of the Norfolk Admirals, longtime supporter of the Washington Capitals, and part time supporter of the Anaheim Ducks (It's hard, but it can be done). My blog is a result of the lack of good sources of Admirals information and happenings. Our paper provides very weak coverage and there is only so much the Admirals themselves can do. There are not to many blogs that cover the Admirals, and when they do it is just rehashed information from the club, the AHL. Nine times out of ten the blogger doesn't even live in the area or go to the games. So what do I want to do? Hmm...good question. I would use this as an outlet for getting out information about the Admirals. Not necessarily the information provided by official channels, but news and information from a fans point of view. Hopefully this is something I can accomplish. I am open to criticism, comments, contributions of infomation for the site. Thank You and Welcome......
