Tokarski’s Return, Janus’s Rise Creates Competition in Norfolk | Bolt Prospects

by Ken Peacock

There was a few names that were missing from the ice when Tampa Bay opened up camp last Saturday. Scott Jackson is out with and injury and not able to take the ice with the team. His situation is being monitored and we wish him the best and can’t wait to see him take his place in the Admirals lineup this season.

Dustin Tokarski on the other hand was supposed to be the number one goalie for the Admirals this year. Cedrick Desjardins was out of the picture in Colorado and Jaroslav Janus was coming off of a “not one of his best” years. When camp opened up Dustin was on the ice for a short time on Saturday and then left watching the team practice from the stands. Rumors were circulating that he was nursing an injury and the Lightning were prepared to shop for a legitimate AHL starter to help Janus while Tokarski Recovered. Things were not looking good in the Tokarski Camp.

Things are now looking up. Tokarski recently underwent 2 MRI’s and he came out with a clean bill of health. No injury’s were revealed and he returned to the ice. Now what about Janus? JJ has had a really good camp. He’s looked sharp in the practices and played in both of the exhibitions. Does Tic have a battle in store for him when they arrive in St John’s for training camp? Could be……

Please check out this in-depth article from Chad over at BoltProspects about Tic and his return, Janus, and the competition over who will be Number One in Norfolk.

I'm not the average hockey nut. It took a bit to grow, but when it did it was like a drug flowing in my veins. I am a season ticket holder of the Norfolk Admirals, longtime supporter of the Washington Capitals, and part time supporter of the Anaheim Ducks (It's hard, but it can be done). My blog is a result of the lack of good sources of Admirals information and happenings. Our paper provides very weak coverage and there is only so much the Admirals themselves can do. There are not to many blogs that cover the Admirals, and when they do it is just rehashed information from the club, the AHL. Nine times out of ten the blogger doesn't even live in the area or go to the games. So what do I want to do? Hmm...good question. I would use this as an outlet for getting out information about the Admirals. Not necessarily the information provided by official channels, but news and information from a fans point of view. Hopefully this is something I can accomplish. I am open to criticism, comments, contributions of infomation for the site. Thank You and Welcome......
