By Ken Peacock

After a disappointing loss to the Charlotte Wednesday, Norfolk returns to the ice for a weekend home series with the Providence Bruins. Tonight’s game (7:30pm) marks the first time in over two seasons that Providence has played on Scope ice. Both teams will meet again Saturday at 7:15pm.

Norfolk is 10-8-0-1 and hold the third position in the east behind the WB/S Penguins and the Hershey Bears. The Admirals Cory Conacher (10G 12A 0 +/-) and Trevor Smith (9G 12A +11) lead the offense. Goalies Tokarski (5W 5L 2.70GAA) and Janus (5W 3L 3.18GAA) have have struggled over the last few weeks and neither one have claimed the number one spot. Coach Jon Cooper continues to give them regular starts, rotating them game after game. Blair Jones has been assigned to Norfolk from the Lightning after clearing waivers yesterday. It is unknown at this time if he has reported or will be playing this weekend.

Tonight is Diabetes awareness night at Scope with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center. Admirals winger, Cory Conacher, is a type 1 diabetic who battles the disease every day. Saturday is March of Dimes Night at Scope. Come out and support the Admirals and these worthy causes. Get your tickets and let’s see you there!

I'm not the average hockey nut. It took a bit to grow, but when it did it was like a drug flowing in my veins. I am a season ticket holder of the Norfolk Admirals, longtime supporter of the Washington Capitals, and part time supporter of the Anaheim Ducks (It's hard, but it can be done). My blog is a result of the lack of good sources of Admirals information and happenings. Our paper provides very weak coverage and there is only so much the Admirals themselves can do. There are not to many blogs that cover the Admirals, and when they do it is just rehashed information from the club, the AHL. Nine times out of ten the blogger doesn't even live in the area or go to the games. So what do I want to do? Hmm...good question. I would use this as an outlet for getting out information about the Admirals. Not necessarily the information provided by official channels, but news and information from a fans point of view. Hopefully this is something I can accomplish. I am open to criticism, comments, contributions of infomation for the site. Thank You and Welcome......
