Tampa Bay Lightning Press Release

TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned defenseman Charles Landry from the Admirals to the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, Admirals General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Landry, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, has appeared in 20 games for the Admirals this season, registering six assists, 19 penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating. He has appeared in five games with the Everblades this season, recording three assists and a plus-3 rating.

Last season, the 20-year-old native of Napierville, Québec, appeared in 57 games with the Montreal Juniors of the Québec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), recording career bests with 11 goals and 40 points. He also registered a plus-26 rating. Landry led the team in goals by a defenseman, was third in points by a defenseman and was tied for third overall in plus/minus. He also posted one goal and three points in ten playoff games for the Juniors. Landry also appeared in one game for the Admirals during the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Landry played in 234 career QMJHL games between Montreal and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He registered 22 goals and 96 points during his career. He also skated in 43 post-season games, amassing six goals and 12 points.

Originally undrafted, Landry was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by the Lightning on September 15, 2010. He represented the Lightning at the 2010 Traverse City NHL Prospects Tournament as an invitee.

I'm not the average hockey nut. It took a bit to grow, but when it did it was like a drug flowing in my veins. I am a season ticket holder of the Norfolk Admirals, longtime supporter of the Washington Capitals, and part time supporter of the Anaheim Ducks (It's hard, but it can be done). My blog is a result of the lack of good sources of Admirals information and happenings. Our paper provides very weak coverage and there is only so much the Admirals themselves can do. There are not to many blogs that cover the Admirals, and when they do it is just rehashed information from the club, the AHL. Nine times out of ten the blogger doesn't even live in the area or go to the games. So what do I want to do? Hmm...good question. I would use this as an outlet for getting out information about the Admirals. Not necessarily the information provided by official channels, but news and information from a fans point of view. Hopefully this is something I can accomplish. I am open to criticism, comments, contributions of infomation for the site. Thank You and Welcome......
